After just 38 seconds Valencia went a goal down, and at half time they were 4 goals down, the bar where my son and I were watching the game normally so noisy and vibrant, was beginning to resemble a funeral.
The second half was much better, with Valencia attacking and making the Real Madrid defence look uncomfortable, a goal apiece in this half made the final score 1-5 Valencia have slipped from 4th to 5th place, they could be 6th if Espanyol beat Murcia tonight, Real Madrid stay top.
It was a terrible night for Valencia, they have no defence or cohesion and have conceded 19 goals this season only one other team has conceded more.
I remarked last season that any team who play attacking football against Real Madrid will score goals, the trouble is, you have to stop them scoring against you if you are to beat them.
See the Halloween Nightmare below you may want to turn the volume down as the commentator is very annoying when a gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooal is scored.
I'm not sure the first goal should have counted as there was a offside striker in the goalkeepers eye line interfering with play.
