Iñaki Bilbao

Convicted ETA assassin, Iñaki Bilbao, who is serving a 45 year sentence for the murder of socialist councillor, Juan Priede Pérez, (shot dead outside a bar in Orio in March 2002), was admitted to Puerto Real Hospital last week nine days after starting a hunger strike on the 22nd October to demand independence for the Basque country.

Bilbao, has lost nearly 20kg (3 Stone) since the start of the protest, he is suffering from severe dehydration and a liver disorder. The prisoner has been put on a drip and will be force-fed if required......Why bother?

This guy was sentenced to serve a further 14 years for repeated threats and insults aimed at High Court judges, Baltasar Garzón and Alfonso Guevara.

During an interview in Judge Garzón's office (May 2003), Bilbao said "I'm going to peel your skin off in strips, fascist, I'm going to put seven bullets in you, come here if you've got the balls."

ETA, listed by the European Union as a terrorist organisation (2002), has killed more than 800 people since 1968 in its drive for Basque independence.
