Hotter weather on the way

The weather forcasters expect higher temperatures.

Four tips to cope with the weather:

1. Eat food that will replace salt lost through sweating.

Salads, fruit, gazpacho, fruit juices, vegetables etc.. Drink lots of liquid, but stay away from alcohol and drinks that contain caffeine as these will dehydrate you.

2. Avoid physical exercise during peak sunshine hours.

If this is impossible, rest frequently, wear something on your head and pour water over your head every so often to cool down, stay in the shade whenever possible.

3. Never leave children or elderly people inside a closed vehicle.

Use the air-conditioning if available. If not, open the windows. On long journeys, take plenty of liquids.

4. Stay indoors.

Lower the blinds and shut the curtains to block out direct sunlight. If you use fans open the windows , but close them if you have air-conditioning.
